Will the Class III 2 Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Fit a 2018 Ford Escape with the Tow Package
Question:
is there a way to put this on a 2018 that came with the tow package. it would be nice to have the extra capacity this hitch offers even if its just for peace of mind with tongue weight. is there something i have to customize to make it work?

The Class III 2" Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75758 that you referenced is confirmed to fit all models of the 2018 Ford Escape. The only modification that may be needed is to remove an OEM trailer hitch if you already have one installed on your Escape. Even though the receiver for this sits lower than what you currently have, they likely use the same mounting points. I have attached an installation video of this trailer hitch on a similar 2018 Escape for you to reference.
You are on the right track that the increased weight rating of this trailer hitch wouldn't actually boost the towing and tongue weight ratings of your vehicle. They will, however, provide you with a stronger hitch if your current one has lower ratings.
Another perk of this trailer hitch is the wiring mounting bracket that allows you to use the part # 18144 for your factory 4-Way.
If you don't already have a ball mount kit then I also recommend checking out the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit # 989900 to complete your towing setup. This comes with a 1-7/8" hitch ball, 2" hitch ball, and ball mounts with 3/4" rise/2" drop and 2-3/4" rise/4" drop, as well as a pin and clip set and a storage bag. I have attached a helpful article about choosing a ball mount you can reference to ensure this will work for your application.
