Trailer Hitch, Wiring and Brake Controller for 2018 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I have a 2018 toyota rav4 and am looking for a trailer hitch on it. I have a small camper so I'll also need wiring and a brake controller. What do you recommend?

The trailer hitch I highly recommend for your 2018 Toyota RAV4 is the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch # E98864 because it is a bolt-on installation that does not require any drilling into your Toyota's frame.
This Class III, 2" trailer hitch has a black powder coat finish to protect it from corrosion and also has a 3,500 lb towing capacity and 525 lb tongue weight capacity - perfect for a small camper. If your RAV4 uses a hands-free liftgate, this trailer hitch will even allow you to maintain its use while some other hitches do not. Trailer Hitch # E98864 is made in the USA and comes with a lifetime warranty. I have added a link to a video of this hitch being installed on a RAV4 for you to check out as well.
For wiring I recommend going with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118578 because the manufacturer, Tekonsha, is known for making the most reliable wiring harnesses on the market. If you take a look at the linked video you can see this connector being installed on an '18 RAV4.
The brake controller I highly recommend for you is the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 because it is the easiest brake controller on the market to use.
You will need to install the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L to use the Echo, but after that it will simply plug into the 7-way on the back of you Toyota; the only other thing you would need in order to use it is a smartphone. Once you download the Echo's app you will use that to set up the brake controller and you'll be set!
This is a proportional brake controller which responds to the deceleration of your truck for smooth braking. It comes with a lifetime warranty and is made in the USA.
I have added a link to a video review of this controller for you to check out so you can see for yourself just how easy it is to use.
