Why Couldnt Hub Centric Wheel Fit in Place of Lug Centric Wheel on Trailer
Question:
I have a boat trailer which has a lug centric hub design where there is a space between the hub and center hole of the rim. Is it possible to use a hub centric style aluminum wheel on a lug centric hub as long as the center hole clears the hub diameter?

It won't work because the problem typically is the bolt holes on the wheel. Lug centric wheels will have the cone shape to the bolt holes so that the matching lugs will center the wheel properly and then hub-centric won't have that same shape since the wheel is already centering on the pilot hole.
