Best Roof Rack, Kayak Carrier and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon

Question:

I am about to buy a 2019 Subaru Outback Limited. I have a kayak in a couple of bites. What do you recommend? I would just as soon get it from you guys versus the dealer as I suspect it would be less expensive. The sales person suggested REI. Please assist selects i would like one item that would hopefully to both the kayak and bikes.

For your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon that has flush mounted rails on the roof I recommend the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack part numbers # TH711200, # TH460R, and # THKIT4063. This is the nicest roof rack available for your vehicle because it features aero shaped bars which minimize wind noise, is incredibly easy to install as it attaches directly to the fixed roof mounting points on your vehice, and it's very well made. It also has a lifetime warranty and a higher weight capacity at 220 lbs. Most are 165 lbs.

For a kayak carrier the Yakima JayLow part # Y04073 is a great option. It fits this roof rack well, is padded to protect your kayaks, folds down when not in use to minimize wind noise, and if ever needed could carry a second kayak.

Then for a bike rack we have the Thule Upride part # TH599000 which will attach to the top channels of the Wingbars and allows you to keep the front wheel installed. Check out the review video I attached for this rack and the other carrier mentioned as well.
