Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2016 Volvo XC90 for 90 lb Kayak

Question:

I want to car top my kayak which will weight around 90 lbs directly on these bars. I would like to get the 58 inch bars that way they can hang over past the edges of the car on each side. I need to have that extra room to help me lift the kayak up on the roof. I was just wondering if hat would fit my car.

For your 2016 Volvo XC90 with raised roof rails the 58 inch long Malone roof crossbars part # MPG216 that you referenced are a confirmed fit so this would work well for you. These have a weight capacity of 165 lb too.

For a kayak carrier with enough weight capacity you'd want the Rhino Rack J-Style # S512 as it has a 99 lb weight capacity. This is a J-style carrier too which is a bit easier to load than other styles.
