According to the 2004 Nissan Titan owners manual, your Nissan factory step bumper can tow up to 5000 lbs and have up to a 500 lb tongue weight. I couldn't find the factory bumper hitch ball shank diameter needed, so I simply linked the page to your options so you can measure and get the best fit.
The height of your trailer and your bumper is the biggest issue you may face. You want to tow level, so it may be a better option to get a hitch so you can determine the rise or drop needed for your trailer to tow level. For a hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13199. Then you will likely need a ball mount with a drop for your lawn trailer to be towed level. I've attached an article to help.
I've linked the pages to fixed mount or adjustable ball mount options to assist. You will simply need to have a capacity rated for your trailer as well as a matching hitch ball diameter to your coupler.
Let me know if you have further questions.
