Hitch Recommendation for Promaster 3500 Extended

Question:

Hi, I am needing a hitch for my van and will need to tow a 4,500lb camper to deliver for a roughly 9 hour drive in the south. And will also need wiring for a 7 pin RV. What are your recommendations? I do have a weight distribution hitch if that’s helps any. Thanks.

For your 2015 Ram ProMaster 3500 the Draw Tite # 76050 is a confirmed fit and would work great. It has more than enough capacity and the shortest install time listed of the hitches that fit your vehicle.

You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118618.

Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way.

If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up the 7-way and install a brake controller.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
