How Much Ground Clearance Do You Lose With the B&W Tow & Stow BWTS10048B

Question:

I own a stock 2014 Silverado LTZ.. my receiver is 20 inches from the ground. Can I purchase and use a 5inch tow and stow without worrying about grounding out anywhere? Driveways, steep inclines, etc? Thanks. If any doubts, Ill go with a 3inch

The distance from the top of the shank to the bottom of the platform on the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount part # BWTS10048B while in the stowed position is 8-1/2". I am not sure where you were measuring from but if you measure from the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground and then subtract 8-1/2" that will then give you your ground clearance measurement.

Unfortunately, there are too many variables at play to give you a definite answer as to whether or not it will scrape but you would have to be on a very steep incline in order for it to make contact so I don't think you should have an issues with normal use. If you feel you will be using your truck on steep terrains then the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount part # BWTS10047B is your next best option as it measures 6-1/2" from the top of the shank to the bottom of the platform.
