Determining Bumper Clearance with Draw-Tite Hitch # 76271 Installed on 2019 Subaru Forester

Question:

Hi, Im about to purchase the Draw Tie 76271, I understand the this particular hitch fits my 2019 Subaru Forester. My question is this, I plan on using this for my Thule T2 Pro Bike Hitch Rack, will I be able to fold the bike hitch up when not in use with out it hitting the bumper of the car? The tonge on of the hitch seems to fit a little deeper in inward from the edge of the bumper, from one the photos. Thank you, l

We have not gotten a chance yet to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch # 76271 on the 2019 Subaru Forester so I don't have an exact bumper clearance measurement, but I was able to obtain a dimension on the hitch itself that will help you determine this.

On the Draw-Tite hitch there is a distance of 5-1/2 inches from the center of the first mounting hole to the center of the hitch pin hole. This means if you take this measurement out from the center of the existing hole on the frame rail of your Subaru Forester (the hole closest to the bumper) this will tell you exactly where the center of the hitch pin hole will sit when the hitch is mounted.

On the Thule T2 Pro # TH23JV there is a distance of 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack when it's folded up. So if you measure out from that same hole on the frame rail to the outermost edge of the bumper and you get less than 10-1/2 inches there will not be any interference between the folded up carrier and the bumper on your Forester.
