Recommended Gooseneck Adapter to Mount 5th Wheel Trailer to Gooseneck Hitch on Flat Bed Truck

Question:

I have an RBW- 7028 pinbox on my trailer and would like to go to the goosebox because I just got a flatbed mounted onto my 3500 pickup and the ball is welded into the bed pocket. Could you tell me which 16000 lb. model of Goosebox would fit my pinbox mount?

I do have a solution for you, however there isn't a Reese Goose Box available that is designed to replace the RBW 7028 pin box on your trailer.

Your best option then is to go with a gooseneck adapter that actually bolts over the king pin (instead of replacing it). For this I highly recommend the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 because it features a 7-1/2 inch offset to provide you with more clearance and an interior polyurethane cushion that will act as a shock absorber for a smoother ride. If the gooseneck ball on your flat bed is recessed I do just recommend taking a couple of measurements of the square opening.

The coupler on this unit measures 7-1/4 inches from side to side and 5-1/2 inches front to back.
