Towing Capacity of 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 3.6L Engine
Question:
Hi, Im interested in purchasing a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited to tow my two horse trailer that weighs about 2,100lbs empty. How come when I research the towing capacity of the jeep I get two very different figures: 3,500lbs or 6,200lbs?

Based on my research the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the 3.6L engine has a towing capacity of 6,200 pounds for the 4x2 model and 7,.200 pounds for the 4x4. It looks like the lesser tow ratings you found are with different trim packages of the Grand Cherokee, specifically the Laredo.
With this in mind you shouldn't have any trouble pulling your loaded horse trailer with the Grand Cherokee Limited.
If the Jeep you end up purchasing does not already have a hitch installed I recommend the Curt Class III # C13182. This is the highest rated hitch available for the Jeep with a 6,000 pound towing capacity that is increased to 7,500 pounds when using a weight distribution system.
I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
The Jeep may come with a trailer wiring connector but if the model you purchase does not you can add the Tekonsha T-One # 118727 to provide you with a 4-Way connector to power the trailer's signal lights.
