Installing Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on 2014 Chevy Tahoe with Factory 7-Way
Question:
Hello, I purchased a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Item# 90195 for my 2014 Tahoe LTZ, it has a factory 7 pin plug on the bumper. Is there a plug and play wiring harness for this vehicle and brake controller?

Expert Reply:
There isn't a factory brake controller plug beneath the dash of your 2014 Chevy Tahoe, however if you have the factory 7-Way connector then all the wires should already be run. This means it is just a matter of connecting the wiring from the Prodigy P3 # 90195 to the wiring present under the dash of your Tahoe.
The factory wires behind the dash may be labeled for function but if not you will want to test them using a circuit tester like # PTW2992. On the P3 the red wire is for the brake input circuit (brake light switch), the blue wire is for brake output to the 7-Way, the black wire is for 12V power, and the white wire is for ground.
