Replacement 2-1/2-Inch Weight Distribution Shank for Lifted Truck
Question:
Good Morning, I have a Reese SC weight distributing hitch with a 54970 hitch bar and 66155 draw bars. I own a Super Duty that I have recently lifted, so I am looking for a replacement hitch bar that will fit the 2.5inch receiver as well as provide more than a 2inch that will still allow me to use the original ball mount. Is there something like this available? Thanks much!

You can use your existing 2-inch weight distribution shank in your 2-1/2-inch hitch by adding a reducer sleeve such as Reese # 58102, or one of the similar items shown on the linked page.
Or you can swap out the shank for a 2-1/2-inch one since shanks are standardized with a common hole diameter and hole spacing. For instance, on the other linked page you can see 2-1/2-inch shanks like Reese # RP54977 which gives you up to 5-3/4-inches of drop. That should be enough drop for the lifted truck. The photo shows key dimensions of this item.
