Recommended Hitch Ball Shank Length for Curt Ball Mount for 2 Inch Hitches
Question:
What length ball shank do I need to properly fit on this mount?
asked by: Kenyon L
Expert Reply:
For the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 2-3/8" Rise, 3-5/8" Drop - Angled Shank - 7,500 lbs # C45230 you will need a hitch ball with a 1 inch shank that is just over 2 inches long. For a 1-7/8 inch ball diameter, I recommend the Curt # C40002. For a 2 inch ball diameter, I recommend # 40038. These shank lengths of 2-1/8 and 2-1/4 inches will allow for the ball platform thickness as well as the lock washer and nut.
