Gauge Wire Recommendation for Brake Output Circuit on Trailer
Question:
In 30 feet of new 12 Guage wire i lose 2 volts. Is that nornmal?I have 11 volts at the back of pickup. 9 volts back by the brakes before I hook my 4 brakes up,and 6 volts after I hook my 4 brakes up. Does not seem to be enough to make them work.

Looking at the size of your trailer I am not surprised you are seeing some voltage loss. This is why it's recommended to use at least 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) to run from the trailer connector back to the brake assemblies. This will reduce the voltage loss as well as carry more amperage.
