Easiest Hitch to Install on Leased 2018 Volkswagen Golf for Bike Rack

hi, my girlfriend wants to put a bike rack on her leased vw golf. We are a bit concerned about the mention of some trimming needed of the underbody, as this is a leased vehicle. Can I get some info re: just what is needed to install the Curt class I hitch on a 2018 vw golf? Its not a gti, not a wagon, just a basic Golf.

It's smart to check the amount of modification to install a hitch on a leased vehicle as that can get you in trouble when you go to return the vehicle. The Curt hitch part # C11412 does not require any modifications to install on the 2018 Volkswagen Golf, so this would be a great option. For a bike rack I really like the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes (maximum number of bikes allowed on a class I hitch), part # HLY94FR.

This is a platform bike rack that only weighs 20 lbs. The biggest drawback to platform bike racks has always been the weight of them, but with this rack you get the best of both worlds. The preferred attachment style with the lighter weight.
