Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2018 Ford Edge

Question:

I would like to purchase a hitch similar to the factory unit that fits into the lower cowling in the back of the car. Every installer here says that it has to extend below the plastic between the exhaust pipes. The factory unit has a cut out space to accommodate the hitch. Can you tel me what hitch to buy

I would love to help but all of the aftermarket trailer hitches for your 2018 Ford Edge will have a receiver tube that installs beneath the rear bumper and not in the middle of the rear bumper like the factory trailer hitch will. If you must have a trailer hitch with a receiver tube that installs in the middle of the rear bumper then a factory trailer hitch will be your only option.

If you don't mind the trailer hitch with a receiver tube that installs beneath the rear bumper then I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75234 which will only have the receiver tube shown and not the entire cross section like on the other options for you. It is also a custom fit that does not require any drilling.
