How Much Tongue Weight Does Weight Distribution System Distribute to Front Axle

Question:

Hello !! I understand that to spread the weight between my pick up and my travel trailer, that some of the weight is on the L bracket and on the head socket. Actually we can see when the bars are under tension that they are slightly bent. so there is some torque there used for the anti sway, So, there is some load on the L bracket , and on the socket , thats what I am looking for, for a 12000/1200 , how much of a load that can be ? Let say with 1200 bars loaded to their max , how much can we transfer , 1200 ? and spread equally between both vehicule or its not how that work ? Thanks

This is a really great question, but unfortunately there isn't a way to get you an exact figure. I've asked our weight distribution manufacturers how much weight gets redistributed and they can't give an exact figure. If you think about it though it should be somewhat close to 50 percent of how much tongue weight is on the hitch of the trailer since the front suspension ends up getting compressed a relatively same amount as the rear suspension does. It essentially balances the tongue weight between the front and rear axles better which allows the truck to sit as level as it did before the trailer was hitched up.
