Self-Adjusting Trailer Brakes for 12 inch Drum

Question:

I need the brake assembly with the brake shoes both left and right sides. I thought the part # was AKEBRK-7-SA, but it says that one is a 5 bolt pattern and mine is 6 bolts. I know its a Dexter system, unfortunately nothing has a part # on it so its been near impossible to find parts. If you could help out that would be awesome.

By bolt pattern, it seems like you may be referring to your hubs but the 5-bolt pattern is actually referring to a brake mounting flange like in the accompanying photo. A 5-bolt flange will look like Brake Mounting Flange for 3" Round Axle # 4-44-1.

So if you do have a 5-bolt brake mounting flange, your hubs are 12" x 2" and you have an axle that is rated for between 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-7-SA will work for you. I'm guessing this is what you have but if it is different let me know and I'll try and find something that works for you.

I have also added a link to a help article on everything you need to add electric brakes which I recommend checking out.
