Minimum Clearance Between Tires Recommendation to Upgrade from 235/80R16 to 235/85R16
Question:
I currently have Westlake ST 235/80 R16 tires on my 2017 Open Range 3X 427 BHS. I would like to upgrade my tires to Goodyear G614 LT 235/85 R16. According to the tire size calculator, the difference in diameter is less than 1inch .93 inches to be exact and the sidewall height difference is .46 inches. My question is...what is the recommended separation between tires to be safe?

The recommended minimum distance between tires on a tandem axle trailer is 4 inches. We do not carry the Goodyear tire, but I do have the Kenda Karrier # AM10501 in the size you mentioned of ST235/85R16. This is a Load Range F tire with a speed rating of 81 mph.
