Weight Rating of Roadmaster Coiled Safety Cables
Question:
Does this rating apply to each cable making the combined 12,000 lb? I have a travel trailer with a GVWR of 6,400 lbs. and want to make sure I am getting the proper sized safety cable or chain. Thank You

The 6,000 lb rating of the Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643 is for the set. Technically they are both rated for 6,000 lbs but since these are there in case of a worst-case scenario you don't want to exceed the 6,000 lbs (in case one were to break).
If you like the look and function of the coiled safety cables then we do have the Curt # C80176 which are rated for 7,500 lbs. These are 42" long as opposed to the 62" long cables you referenced but if you are using them for towing a trailer 42" should be plenty of length. If you would like to add quick links like what comes on the Roadmaster cables then I recommend getting 2 of the Curt # C82932 which is rated for 16,500 lbs.
Attached is a review video for you to check out.
