Recommended Disc Brake Upgrade Kit for 2014 Heartland Big Horn 3010RE 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

I am changing to the Kodiak brake on a 2014 Hertland Big Horn 3010RE fifth wheel rv. The lugs on my 8-6.5 pattern hubs are 9/16 inch. The only Kodiak hub I see in your system is with the K2HR79E kit that has 9/16 inch lugs. The axles are 6000 lb Dexter as per tag. Please let me know if this hub will work? The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat - 7,000 lbs # K2HR79E or the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Raw Finish - 7,000 lbs # K2HR79 will work with the #42 spindles that are on 6K Dexter axles. Both of these options have the 9/16 lugs just one has the e-coat for corrosion resistance.

I've attached videos to further assist with product information and installation. If you are upgrading from the original electric drums, then I also recommend the HydraStar Electric-Hydraulic Actuator w/ Line Kit for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # CAR-HBA16-2 which will give you the disc brake actuator, the brake lines, and the breakaway system.

You most likely already have the breakaway system, so you can get the Actuator # HBA16 and then add brake line kit # 20TA-BLKIT for tandem axles. I've attached an article to further assist as well as some videos.
