5th Wheel Hitch Compatibility with 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab with 5 Foot 7 Inch Bed
Question:
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 crew can 5’7” bed. Can a 5th wheel hitch be installed on this truck? I have the 5.7 hemi with the 6speed transmission. 3:21 rear end gear.

Your 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab with 5 foot 7 inch bed can use a 5th wheel hitch. I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50142-58. This will give you the base rails needed for your hitch. Then you can use either a fixed mounted hitch like # RP30928 or # RP30047 with a Sidewinder pin box replacement for turning clearance or there is one sliding hitch compatible.
The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 13,000 lbs # DM8550040 is an automatic sliding hitch that has a travel distance of 22-1/2 inches to give you the turning clearance required. Most sliding hitches give you a travel distance of about 12 inches which would not provide your needed clearance.
