Is 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e44SR Painted

Question:

Is this spring painted ? Also, The RV dealer installed brand new leaf springs, U Bolts and stronger 3inch axles used to be 2 3/8, but did not increase the strength of the springs. I am changing out the springs because the previous ones caused tire rubbing because of bad manufacturers Grand Design, many owners are having problems marginal design. Since the U Bolts are new, can I get by with new 1/2inch - 20 nuts or do I really need to install new u-bolts also. The 7inch u bolts are a little long and this manufacturer has clearance problems. Dexter uses 6.5inch u-bolts. If I have to use 7inch u-bolts I will probably cut them down.

The leaf springs like the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e44SR that you referenced do have a light coat of paint on them. Since the U-bolts you currently have are basically brand new you could easily reuse them.
