Brake Controllers are Necessary for Electric Trailer Brakes to Perform Correctly
Question:
Hello ! I bought a home-made trailer the electric brakes didnt work!! So i kinda fix them,but im curious about something. One of the wire that comes goes to the ground and the other one goes to the blue which is the one for the brakes.So i did that conection and one of the brakes works and the other side doesnt...a friend told me that i need a breaker contoller..So is that possible that i doesnt work proper cuse i need that controller? I have a 2005 ford f-150 and it came all set up like you show on your site.Please let me know

Yes, you will need a brake controller for your electric trailer brakes to perform correctly. I recommend the Prodigy brake controller part # 90885.
To connect this controller to your 2005 Ford F-150, you will need part # 3035-P if your truck has a tow package. If your truck does not have a towing package, you will be able to use the pig tail wiring included with the controller.
