Question:

I posted this and received this answer before However, I realize I only listed the boat weight. The total all in without personal gear just trailr, boat motor fuel and so on is 5291# I am wondering if this is to much for this truck to mee seems so. How do I find the combined weight limits.

I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2014 Cadillac Escalade and found that it features a towing capacity of either 8,300 pounds for the 2WD model or 8,100 pounds for the AWD model. I do still recommend verifying this by checking your copy of the manual but based on this information your Escalade can absolutely pull your Lund Pro Boat that weighs up to 4,362 pounds (as long as the weight of the trailer itself doesn't push the combined weight over the vehicle's limit).

There actually isn't an aftermarket trailer hitch available for your 2014 Cadillac Escalade. The reason for this is that your Escalade should already have a factory trailer hitch installed. If you do not see a hitch receiver at the rear of your vehicle it is likely hidden behind a panel cover on the center of the bumper. The panel/cover can be removed by turning the fasteners on the lower tabs 90 degrees counterclockwise, lifting the lower edge of the cover a tad, and then pulling the cover downward to disengage the upper attachments.

Your vehicle should also already have a factory 7-Way connector in place but in case you need a replacement you can use the Hopkins part # HM40975 to provide you with both a 7-Way and 4-Way connector.

According to the owner's manual for your 2014 Cadillac Escalade the vehicle can safely pull a trailer that weighs up to 8,300 pounds for the 2WD model or 8,100 pounds for the AWD model. With this in mind it still looks like you are in great shape to pull the combined 5,291 pound weight of both the trailer and boat, with still plenty of wiggle room either for a healthy safety margin or for any added gear. I again still recommend that you verify this information by checking your copy of the manual or even by visiting a local Cadillac dealer with your vehicle's VIN.
