Recommended Cargo Box and Kayak Carrier for a 2011 Toyota Yaris Hatchback with 48 Long Crossbars
Question:
Yaris HB 5-door 2011 RS spoiler: have 48” wide Rack, to which will mount a 1300 Dome awning. Want to mount cargo box for camping gear too, but still have option for kayak saddles. Want low profile all around given it’s a sub-compact. What suggestion should do you have?

I have some options for you but since you only have 48" wide crossbars and you will be using an awning you are pretty limited in what you can use.
I recommend the Thule Force XT Sport # TH6356B as it measures 74-3/4" long x 24-3/4" wide x 16-3/4" tall and only requires 48-1/4" of front crossbar to rear hatch clearance (see attached photo). If you use this cargo box with the Thule Stacker # TH830 (which carries the kayak on its side) then you may have enough side-to-side clearance to mount the 24-3/4" wide box and a kayak. You will need to test out this fit though to make sure that it will all fit on your 2011 Toyota Yaris.
