Needed Items for Flat Towing 2012 Honda Fit
Question:
What would be the best to tow my 2012 Honda Fit to my 2008 Winnebago View I would need all that is needed, so that we only have to plug in to connector beside trailer hitch Thanks

For starters, you will need a tow bar and base plates. The tow bar mounts into the receiver on your Winnebago, and would use the base plates that permanently attach to the Honda Fit as an attachment point. I would recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, part # RM-520. The Falcon 2 is our best seller, and is easy to operate. The vehicle-specific base plate kit is part # 521190-1. I will link you to our video showing this kit being installed on a 2010 Honda Fit.
Next, you will need a lighting system for the towed vehicle. If you are not planning on towing the Honda Fit frequently, you might want to consider a magnetic mount system, like part # TL21RK. A magnetic mount system has the benefit of being very easy to install. It also will remain completely independent of the wiring system of the Honda.
A more permanent wiring solution would be a Tail Light Isolating Diode Kit like part # 38955. A diode system offers plug-in-and-go convenience once installed. I will link you to an install video for this kit.
You will also need safety cables. Roadmaster offers a coiled set, part # RM-643. Coiled cables are your best bet, because they are less likely to become tangled or drag.
Many states now require a supplemental braking system on a towed vehicle. If this is the case in your state, I would recommend the Roadmaster Even Brake System part # RM-9400, which will work with the RV so that the brakes on the Honda work proportionally with the RV brakes.
You will also want to read your owners manual or check with Honda regarding any other guidelines or modifications necessary so that the vehicle can be safely flat towed. Some vehicles require modifications such as a drive line disconnect, transmission lube pump, freewheeling hubs or axle disconnects.
I have provided links to install details, videos and FAQ articles that will provide more information about flat towing your vehicle.
