Recommended Radial Trailer Tire to Replace 7.00-15 Tires on Gooseneck Trailer

Question:

I have a 16 ft gooseneck stock trailer with 700-15. 6000 would be a very heavy load for me, should I go with 205 15 Or 225 15 and load range 8 or 10ply...i dont want to raise the load height of the trailer much higher or have out ride to rough...which is best choice? Thanks

If you are wanting to move away from the 7.00-15 size tires but still use your existing wheels then the best option will be with a 205/75-15 tire size.

This particular size tire will be about 27.1 inches in diameter/height (actually about 2.3 inches smaller than your current 7.00-15) and will fit your existing 15 inch wheels as long as they have a width of 5 inches, 5-1/2 inches, 6 inches, or 6-1/2 inches. Also keep in mind that only half of the difference in size will actually affect the ride height of your trailer.

For your gooseneck trailer I recommend the 8 ply Provider Radial Trailer Tire # TR20515D that features a maximum load of 2,150 pounds at 65 psi and an excellent speed rating of 81 mph. It is always a good idea to have a healthy safety margin with the combined capacity of your tires and the type of margin that this tire provides will not negatively affect the trailer's ride quality during travel.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this particular tire that you can check out as well.
