On your 2017 Ford Edge I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75234 trailer hitch receiver which is compatible with the Titanium, SE, SEL, and Sport models. The Hands-free Liftgate sensor areas will be limited to areas away from the center where hitch receiver is located but will work well on either side of that center receiver tub so you won't lose that functionality and feature. This hitch receiver will work very well for a bike rack or for towing.
For your vehicle trailer wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118677 if you have the Sport or Titanium model. If you have the SE or SEL model then I recommend # 118669 instead. Both options will install behind your rear tail lights and draw power directly from the battery to protect your vehicle electronics. I recommend using mounting bracket # 18144.
You will also need a ball mount to tow a trailer. I recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs # 989900. This kit will give you two draw bar options with different rise or drop options and two hitch ball options to ensure you can tow a trailer level. I've attached an article about determining proper rise or drop for your ball mount.
