Troubleshooting Trailer Turn Signals Coming on When Brakes are Pressed
Question:
I have a small trailer from china and 2015 jeep grand Cherokee with factory 4 pin and 7 way round.. trailer came with a 7 way flat , seems to be aus standard from my research. I bought and installed a 7way round converter/splice box . the lights themselves on trailer has breaks/signal arrow for each left and right as well as reverse light. when its all connected the break light is bright and wont change when breaks are pressed just on the truck it works as usual but both arrows /signal lights on trailer light light up as if thats the break light and the red of the actual break light just stays bright.. reverse light lights up fine and signal arrows do work as needed.

From what I can tell from your description it sounds like what you are going to need is a 2-to-3 converter, the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # C56196 in order to make sure when you hit your brakes the turn signals no longer go on. You are going to need Tail Light Isolating Diode System # 38955 as well in order to prevent power feedback.
You will just need to ensure you install this system behind the 7-way on your trailer; I have added a link to a video review of this converter as well as a link to the installation instructions for you to take a look at.
