On Trailer Brake Assemblies Which Brake Pad Faces Towards the Front of the Trailer
Question:
Just wondering on the drum brake assembly. Does the big pad goes towards the front and the small pad towards the back?

On the Dexter brake assembly part # 23-27 that you referenced the small pad would face towards the front of the trailer. This is a "right hand" assembly which means it goes on the passenger side of the trailer.
If you check out the picture I attached you can also use the arm the magnet is held on as a way to tell too. If you imagine it as the head of an arrow it should always point to the front of the trailer.
