LED Reverse Light Recommendation for 2005 Toyota Prius

Question:

To Jameson or whomever, Thank you for the suggestion. I bought the parts suggested in your post below. Do I simply cut into and parallel the wiring to one of the reverse lights or where should I wire to? Thanks,

Since you have a Prius I would strongly recommend going with an LED reverse light that will draw considerably less than the Halogen part # PL-807. For that you'd want the LED light part # BUL10CB with the bracket # BK70BB and the grommet # A70GB and you'd have a setup that draws only .28 of an amp per light. You'll also need a wiring pigtail like the part # A49PB. This could be ran to the reverse light circuit of your vehicle without overdrawing it.

You'll want to tap into the reverse light circuit so that you can pull power from it to power the auxiliary reverse lights without cutting the wire. For that a quick-splice connector part # 804C would work well. Basically you take the wire you want to run to the auxiliary reverse lights and the wire that runs to your current reverse lights and put them both in the two slots of the connector. When you close the connector the spade presses down and connects the two circuit.
