Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2019 Ford Escape with Raised Rails

Question:

I need to transport a kayak on the roof of my 2019 Ford Escape, do I need a roof rack to install a kayak carrier? I have rails that go front to back but that's it.

You will need a roof rack installed on your 2019 Ford Edge that will give you crossbars that run from left to right so that a kayak carrier can be installed. For that I recommend the Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA126B-2 and # RRSX100 which will give you an aero shaped crossbar roof rack which will minimize wind noise. I really like the Rhino Rack roof racks as you end up with a higher quality roof rack that's easy to install and has a better price than other similar racks. For a kayak carrier I recommend the Yakima JayLow part # Y04073 because it's a padded carrier that can be folded down when not in use, fit the Rhino Rack, and could also carry a second kayak if ever needed.
