Can 6 Lug Hubs be Replaced With 8 Lug Hubs on Toy Hauler

Question:

Replacing 6 lug Hubs with 8 lug Hubs. I own a 2018 Livin Lite Quicksilver Model 8.5x26 Toy hauler with tandem 4,400 lb dexter axles, with 6 lug hubs and 15 inch wheels, with 2 factory wheel/tires missing. It originally had factory 16 inch wheels/tires on it, but when I bought it the 16 wheels/tires had been replaced with 15. I would like to upgrade back to 16 inch Tires/Wheels. I am having a tough time finding the Sendel T-07 16 inch 6 lug wheel that I would like to purchase. Most of them are 8 lug. I am thinking, maybe I should just upgrade to 8 lugs. I am trying to determine how much it would cost to replace my 6 lug hubs, with 8 lug hubs. I normally install the parts I buy from you. However, I am a disabled Army Vietnam vet, so I would probably have to pay someone to swap the hubs, since I do not believe that I could do it. I could still buy the parts from you. I need your help and recommendation on this project. Thank you in advance for your help and advice.

It is likely you can replace the 6 lug hubs with 8 lug hubs on your 2018 Livin' Lite Quicksilver 8.5x26FBR with 4,400 lb axles so long as you can ensure compatibility with your spindle. To do this you will need to know your bearing numbers and grease seal inner diameter. The easiest way to do this is call the manufacturer with your VIN, as they should have this information due to how new your toy hauler is.

From the information you gave there is a pretty good chance you will have inner bearing # 25580 and outer bearing # 14125A with a grease seal with an inner diameter of 2-1/8 inches (2.125). If so you can use Hub and Drum # 8-219-4UC3-EZ if you have E-Z Lube axles or # 8-219-4UC3 if you have standard axles. These hubs have an 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern and will accommodate 16 inch wheels.

It is also possible that you have a grease seal with an inner diameter of 2-1/4 inches; if you do you can still use either of these hubs, you will simply need to use a different grease seal, part # RG06-070. I have added links to video reviews of both hub and drums for you to take a look at as well.
