Tow Capacity of 2015 Subaru Forester
Question:
My Subaru 2015 forester shows towing capacity of 1500 pounds. Will the hitch allow more towing poundage it can tow?

Expert Reply:
A towing setup is only as strong as it's weakest component. Since your vehicle is rated at 1,500 lbs towing weight there isn't anything that will allow the vehicle to tow more weight than that. The reason the Draw Tite hitch for your 2015 Subaru Forester has higher towing capacities is because the hitch was designed to fit your vehicle and to be as strong as possible and then was independently tested for it's weight capacity. It was determined that the hitch by itself has capacity of 3,500 lbs trailer weight.
