How to Find the Correct Ball Mount for Flat Towing a 2013 Chevy Spark
Question:
I need recommendations for a heavy duty ball mount. Here are the particulars: Class III or better, 2x2 receiver, 6-inch rise, accommodate 2-inch ball. Mount will be for flat towing a 2013 Chevy Spark using a Blue Ox base plate and a Blue Ox Adventurer tow bar. The RV coupler height is 16-inches. The tow bar leveled height is 22-inches. I would like to stay away from adjustable ball mounts. ~Thank you

For a class III fixed ball mount with a 6" rise that will accept a 2" hitch ball I recommend using the Curt Ball Mount part # C45090. This is actually the only ball mount we have that meets all of your criteria. For a 2" hitch ball I recommend using the 2" Hitch Ball part # 40038. You will also need a hitch pin and for that I recommend a locking one like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # e98880. The ball mount has a 3,500 lb towing capacity which will not be an issue on your 2013 Chevy Spark because it has a curb weight of 2,269 to 2,337 lbs.
Please keep in mind that when measuring for a ball mount in a flat-towing setup, we recommend measuring from the ground to the top of the inside edge on your trailer and then from the ground to the center of the base plate kit on the toad. The difference will give you the correct amount of rise you need in a ball mount. The Blue Ox Adventurer Tow Bar part # BX7322 will need to be within 3" +/- of level.
I have attached review videos for you as well.
