To flat tow your 2014 Chevy Equinox you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, possibly a high-low adapter, and a few additional accessories.

The base plate kit that works with both the Falcon All Terrain # RM-522 you referenced and your Guardian Rock Guard # RM-4000 is the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-523160-4. For safety cables I recommend part # RM-643 which are coiled to keep them from touching the ground and are rated for up to 6,000 lbs. You may also be interested in the lock # e98882 and tow bar cover # RM-055-3 to secure and protect your All Terrain tow bar.

Then for wiring I recommend the Flexo-Coil kit # RM-15267 which gives you easy connection points once installed and allows you to install the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to help keep your battery charged. When I looked up the flat towing instructions online for your Equinox it mentioned pulling a fuse. To make this process easier I recommend using a fuse bypass. Part # RM-76517 is for a 4-cylinder and part # RM76511 is for a V6.

The BrakeMaster part # RM-9160 for Air or Air over Hydraulic and # RM-9060 for Hydraulic are great braking systems but you will also need to utilize the Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751439 so that the lights on your Equinox work properly and the Seat Adapter # RM-88280 so that the BrakeMaster sits properly.

Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.

Attached are some installation videos and instructions for you to check out as well but you will also want to refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions for flat towing your Equinox.
