Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit Recommendation for 2009 Ram 2500
Question:
hello, i have been a customer of e trailer for some time, and i value your opinion . i am switching from a bumper pull travel trailer to a fifth wheel . i have been told i may need a sliding inch fifth wheel hitch . here is what i have 2009 ram 2500 HD CTD 4x4 crew cab 6.5 foot bad my question what are my options , i am 60 yrs old and would like the easiest unit to remove the truck does have the Linch brackets installed under the bed between the chassis and bed . i have looked at most of the auto slide fifth wheel hitches BUT have just seen the Anderson type .. could this be used in my instance ?and what would be needed to complete the installation of this unit total cost for parts . also could you give total cost for the Demco auto slide and also the pull rite super glide... thank you

Sounds like you have the remains of a universal fifth wheel kit like the # RP30035 installed in your 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 since you mentioned having L-brackets already installed. The frustrating part though is that without knowing what brand brackets you have I can't really recommend a rail kit since you can't mix bracket and rail manufacturers.
The safest recommendation I can make for your truck is a custom install rail kit like the # DM8552016-71 which is a confirmed fit for your truck so that you can use the Demco Autoslider part # DM8550034. The prices for these two are available at the links below. We don't carry PullRite so I can't get you prices on them. Typically the Demco hitches come in at a lower price though.
Anderson Ultimate adapters are not ideal for short bed trucks like you have since they don't slide back to give additional clearance.
