Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where All the Pins of 7-Way Have Voltage on Them

Question:

With my pickup running,no brakes or turn signals applied, I have battery voltage at all lighting pins in my 7 pin connector, including reverse lights. Does this indicate a faulted trailer brake module?

Expert Reply:

If all of the pins on your 7-way trailer wiring connector have voltage on that would indicate that you have a short most likely between the 12 volt accessory circuit and the other circuits. I'd recommend going over the wiring behind the 7-way looking for any cut or exposed wire and fix as needed.

I attached a help article on troubleshooting trailer wiring for you to check out as well.
