Should Trailer Batteries for Powering Trailer Jack and Breakaway Kit Be Separate

Question:

I am looking to redo all the wiring on my 18 foot trailer that has break axels. For the most part, I have figured it all out but I am stuck on the battery. I will be getting the powered trailer jack and the breakaway kit that comes with the battery and charger, But do i need to put on another 12volt battery for the power jack along with about 4 led white lights i want to face the ground for when i connect and disconnect at night i can see via a switch. I want the lights and jack to work when not plugged into the truck/Tow vehicle, and if i need a second battery do i need another charger or can i connect it to the main power 12v+ off the junction box i will be getting from etrailer.

You will need a second battery to power the lights and jack you mentioned as the breakaway kit battery would not be strong enough for that and since it has to be fully charged at all times you would not want to have any other circuits draining it. You can charge it and the breakaway battery at the same time though with the same charge wire from your junction box.
