We have everything you need to get your 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited set up so that it can pull your trailer that is equipped with electric brakes.
You will need to start by installing a 4-Way trailer connector. For this I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118416. This custom harness will plug right into the factory port behind the driver's side tail light. Tekonsha is well known for producing reliable and long-lasting wiring products.
I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
From there you will need to convert the 4-Way to a 7-Way with the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit includes everything needed to do this. I have attached the full written installation instructions for you to check out as well.
With the 7-Way installed you lastly just need a brake controller to power and control the brakes on the trailer. For this I recommend taking a look at the Curt Echo # C51180. This is a really cool brake controller that features an extremely simple installation process that consists of plugging it into the 7-Way on your Jeep and then pairing it via Bluetooth with your phone after installing the free app. And that is it! It is a fully proportional unit that will activate the brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your Jeep and you can control settings or activate the manual override with your phone.
If you go with this brake controller you will only need to run the black power wire from the above-mentioned # ETBC7 kit to the battery on your Jeep. The blue wire won't be needed.
