For your 2018 BMW X5 I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75600 for a couple of reasons.
All three available trailer hitches for your 2018 BMW X5 feature a similar hidden design where only the receiver is actually visible below the vehicle. The receiver for this Draw-Tite model though is hidden without being too recessed behind the bumper like the other options. This will simply make it much easier to use with hitch-mounted accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers where interference with the rear bumper can come into play with recessed receivers.
Another factor that makes this particular hitch ideal for use with bike racks and cargo carriers is that unlike Curt, Draw-Tite does not require that you use an additional stabilizing strap for this application. Installing the strap can be a bit of pain and one that you won't have to worry about with the Draw-Tite # 75600.
The hitch will provide you with a 2 inch receiver opening and it features a tongue weight capacity of 600 pounds and a towing weight limit of 6,000 pounds. I have attached an installation video that you can also use for reference.
