Availability of Brake Controller that Connects to Air Brakes of Vehicle to Activate Electric Brake
Question:
Hi there. I’ve got a couple of antique buses I need to move 1,200 miles across mostly flat land some hills and mountains in between. The quotes I’ve giteb are around $11,000 EACH and well, this seems like I can do better. The buses weigh ~17,000 lbs, one has working air brakes I figured I could keep tanks full with inverter and air compressor in pickup truck and the other had working brakes but the air lines were cut easy enough to replace/repair, I think. Anyhow- my question: is it possible to connect the air brakes to a trailer brake controller? Not so worried about being able to pull, just being able to slow and stop. Perhaps another option that is cheaper than $22,000?? Thanks!

We do have a brake controller that is designed to connect to air brakes and then activate the electric brakes of a trailer. For that you'd want the Hayes brake controller part # HA100400C.
