Replacement Weight Distribution System for Use with Reese Shank
Question:
What is a replacement for the Reese SC 800lb Spring bar 58357?
asked by: SCOT M
Expert Reply:
The Reese SC weight distribution system has been discontinued and the spring bar part # 58357 is no longer available. The nature of the specific head assembly you have does not make it possible to use any alternate 800-lb spring bars so you will need to replace the system. The shank part can still be used, and even with other brands of head assembly, since they are all standardized but it may just be easier to select a complete new setup tuned to your trailer's tongue weight.
The linked page displays all systems that both distribute trailer tongue weight and also control trailer sway.
For a Reese Strait-Line system tuned to 800-lbs tongue weight and that allows you to use your existing shank you can use part # RP66074 or for an Equal-I-zer system that will work with your shank you can use part # EQ37101ET.
