Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Does Not Work with Brake Pedal

Question:

I installed the brake control on my 14 tundra using the pigtail connection. My trailer brakes wont work with the pedal depressed but will with the manual slide. Help needed, towing through the mountains next week.

Check the third brake light fuse of your truck. Most likely it is blown which is causing the issue you have. The third brake light fuse is commonly linked to the stoplight circuit that trucks will use for the brake controller wiring so when that circuit is down the brake controller won't work with the brake pedal.
