Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ford Escape
Question:
which hitch should I get for my 2018 Ford Escape? I do not have a tow package?

The best hitch option we have for your 2018 Ford Edge is the etrailer.com hitch part # e98866. I recommend this hitch because it has a concealed crosstube which makes it less visible as you'd only see the hitch opening below the bumper. It also has great towing capacities at 3,500 lbs trailer weight, a 2 inch opening (most popular size), and is priced great.
For trailer wiring then you'd want the Curt part # C56320 which installs by plugging inline with the taillights of the vehicle and is our most reliable wiring option we have.
If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
