Recommended Best Roof Rack for Cost on 2015 Honda Accord

Question:

Hi eTrailer! I just purchased a 2015 Honda Accord, and Id like to use my Thule roof rack from my previous Accord. My rack is has Thule 400XT feet and square load bars that are 50 inches. I think I need to replace the foot pack, because the feet on mine dont go shortinch enough for the doors of the newer Accord. I saw where one of your experts has recommended that you need 58 inch load bars for this, but my load bars seem wide enough, and I dont really want 4 inches of load bars overhanging the car on either side. Please advise, and thanks in advance!

I reached out to my tech contact at Thule and unfortunately they no longer make fit kits for the 400XT feet which have been discontinued. You will need to upgrade to the Traverse Roof-Rack Foot Pack # TH480R for your 2015 Accord and then you will be able to use the Fit Kit # THKIT1720. Then you will need either the # TH711520 or # TH712500 for your vehicle model. I also recommend the lock cores # TH450400 to secure your rack if you don't already have the locking system.

Since you will need to upgrade your system, you may want to consider a more aerodynamic bar. I recommend the Rhino Rack Vortex # RRVA137B-2, the feet # RRRLKVA which include locks and the # DK359 fit kit which is the best option for your money

Let me know if you have further questions.
