How to Mount an ARB Awning 2000 on a Yakima Round Bar Roof Rack

Question:

Hi guys, I have a ARB 2000 awning that was given to me as a present and I have a round bar YAKIMA rack on my trailer. I would like to mount the ARB on the Yakima as cleanly as possible without drilling the bar. I know that Yakima makes a CLAMP for their Slimshad that looks really cool and secure. I am wondering if that clamp would work with my ARB awning? If it will not, do you guys make a similar mounting system for the ARB awning? And finally.. If I end up having to use the ARB bracket, can I use the old yakima snap around mounting clamps that tighten around the bar to hold the ARB bracket. Thank you for your time.

Forgive me but we do not carry ARB products so I am by no means an expert on them but I was able to get into contact with one of their reps and we were able to come up with a way for you to mount the ARB Awning 2000 on your Yakima Round Bar Roof Rack. In order to do this you would first need to acquire their universal bracket item 813401 or something similar and then the Replacement RoundBar SL Adapter part # 8880641. I believe this adapter will work for you but please understand that they have not been tested together so an exact fit cannot be confirmed. The round end will slide over the crossbar and then a set screw/bolt can be ran though the universal bracket and into the adapter.

Unfortunately, I don't see any way to use the Replacement Clamp Assembly for Yakima SlimShady Roll-Out Awning part # 8880737.

Hi, I can confirm the roundbar SL adpater with the ARB universal mount works great. I had to use a 6mm bolt with a 1/4" flat washer and 1/4" lock washer to get the spacing correct (so it would tighten down on the bar). It works really well.

@TobyM I believe that the SL Adapter # 8880641 would be upside down but I think this is a question that would be better to be addressed by @TommyH.
