Problems with Trailer Wiring Working Intermittently on a 2012 Kia Sadona
Question:
Problem with trailer lights. I have a wiring harness now that does not have a wire that connect to the battery like your set up. Some times one blinker will work and the other not. problem comes and goes. Lights on trailer work fine on other vehicles. Would having the harness with wire connected to the battery help this situation?

If the wiring harness you have is the correct harness for your Sedona and is working intermittently, you can most likely solve the issue by doing a bit of troubleshooting. Check the ground wire connection first. Make sure it is attached to a clean metal surface that is free of corrosion, paint and primer. Next check the connectors to make sure none of the pins in the connectors are bent and that the connectors are fully seated an the locking tabs are engaged fully.
If you cannot get the harness to work after the above checks, or it is not the correct harness for your vehicle, then the harness may need to be replaced, if the trailer wiring and lights are working with other vehicles.
The Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, # 118410, is designed for the 2012 Kia Sedona and would work great for your vehicle. This is the only wiring harness we recommend for the 2012 Sedona at this time and the included power wire is added to this harness to protect the sensitive circuitry on your Sedona. This works by providing power to the trailer lights from the vehicle battery and eliminating excessive amperage draw on the vehicle tail lights.
We have an installation video for you to review that should be helpful, see link.
